EDO Quiz Night
31 October 2006
The Environmental Defenders' Office is a non-profit, non-government community legal centre specialising in public interest environmental law. It’s legal aid for the environment!

Although the EDO receives some Federal and State funding, fundraising is essential for them to continue to provide free legal services and to undertake litigation to protect WA’s environment.

So CwaC was delighted to provide catering for 350 people at their quiz night. The event was a huge sucess with dinner including gourmet pizzas, mushroom risotto, salad and sushi. We also had a snack menu of cheese and dip platters, home-made muffins and florentines and mini spring rolls.

We started with a variety of "Welcome Toasts" topped with sun dried tomato relish / babagannouj / white-bean and roast garlic spread with red capsicum and followed this up with oven roasted tomato, onion and garlic soup with grilled Turkish bread. Then we moved on to the main course of pumpkin, artichoke and fetta tarts, grilled vegie platter, baked baby potatoes with rosemary and sea salt and spinach salad with chickpeas, beetroot and heritage seed radishes. Dessert was dark chocolate moose with local fruit platter.

Greens (WA) Candidates Training Weekend 2004
Australian Greens National Conference - July 2005
Although technically pre-CwaC, these events were where the idea was born. The Greens (WA) training weekend was a residential event for 30 with dinner for 50 on the Saturday. The conference was two lunches for 50 with delegates from all over Australia.

We got such great feedback about the food that we thought there might be a niche for this kind of thing. And there was!
